The twins are finally done with their Fisher-Price Rainforest Bouncers. YEAH! We're hoping to get $20/piece and that is negotiable.

They are used and still work great-ish. They vibrate well, when fully loaded with DD batteries. The music on one is not so great any more, but who really likes the music these things play anyway, right?

Yesterday we went to the CITI Building at 53rd and Lex and they have a great train show that is free. It is a collection of miniature trains put together in a scene from local NY back in the 1940s and 50s. It is quite impressive, even for adults. It is also the last year they will be doing it as it is expensive. It is there until Jan 2nd.

Hey everyone.

So I took some photos yesterday at play group but I wasn't sure how people felt about putting their kid(s)'s photos online. I decided not to post them here but created another blog to test it out. Right now, it is available for anyone to view it but we can change it on permission (invitation) basis as well. I thought it might be fun to share with family and friends since Halloween is coming up.

I will leave it up until mid November, and if I don't hear any responses or people not feeling comfortable, I will just delete the blog. : )

While preparing for 2 and 3 to arrive this fall, I am delighted at all the new items available already! I am excited to buy newborn clothes again - they are so sweet and fun! I am dying to know if any of you have used and can recommend that following items for the first 12 weeks of life:

Arm's Reach Co-Sleeper
Until they can hold their heads up we were thinking of use their carseats in a carseat frame. We didn't use this with Jack, but then again the rules don't apply, so we're rethinking everything!
Stokke Tripp Trapp high chair. Jack is outgrowing his booster and I LOVE this one. Anyone try it?

So, I know that Madison Square Park is a little off the beaten path for upper west siders, but did you know they have free kid's concerts on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the summer?

Performances start at 10:30am and as a bonus, the Shake Shack is right there in the park for lunch time. Yum.

I don't know of too many, but I am mighty interesting in learning about the ones that you recommend. I know that several families in the past have enjoyed The Rocking Horse Nursery School on West 69th.

Doughnuts anyone?

Attention all moms who are sick of the Upper West Side:

A group of whomever wants to go is heading to the Lower East Side to try out the Doughnut Plant (www.doughnutplant.com) to try some delicious homemade doughnuts this Thursday (5/22). What if we meet at the 72nd street subway station where the B/D train stops (72nd and CPW--south side of the street across from the Dakota) around 11:30? That way kids can get in a morning nap and we miss the rush hour subway madness. We can take the B train all the way there until Grand street. It's on Grand and Essex on the Lower East Side right near this really old park (seaward park?), then whoever wants to get their shop on can walk up Orchard and hit up a sample sale and my favorite shoe store Dolce Vita. Cool?

Here is our new Manhattan First Ward Mom and Kids blog for us to use for anything we need! Most importantly, I hope it can become our mom and kids stuff bulletin board.

Please share interesting finds and discoveries that might help us all, not to mention important tips and any items you need/want to sell. Hopefully this can become a great resource for new moms and kids just finding their way in our world.

Also, please add to the sidebars. I just put a few things that came to mind first and I know the lists are not exhaustive - so add your favorites!
